I just got Leah's textures and I love them. Here's a play with one of my photos. I gave it a vintage look and I think it looks great. I would definately recommend getting these if you haven't already. They are amazing so fun to play with.

Faith
Ok so this is going to be a bit of a stretch but here it goes. I have faith that if I keep working at it and practicing I will be able to take pictures like a pro. I have been working really hard and can see a difference from when I first started. I just need to study more and put to practice the tools that you all have taught me. I feel so inspired by everyone as I look at your blogs and just want to say thank you for sharing yourselves with me. Thanks for all the great comments yesturday.
I always liked these name storyboards so I have been searching and finally found the letters for my last name. What do ya think?
This storyboard was just for fun. We went to the duck pond and I wanted to put these picks together and try something new. I'm not sure I like it. But here it is anyway.

Bountiful Temple
So I went to go to my PS class tonight and stupid me didn't realize that last week was the last day (I didn't go cause I had a migraine). The cool thing was the Bountiful Temple was just up the street and I thought perfect I can take some pictures. This is an important place for me. This is where I got married 3 years ago. I made covenants here with the Lord that I would strive to live after the example He set and follow his guidence and teachings. I have faith in the covenants I made with my husband in this temple that our marriage will last through all eternity and that as I strive to be obedient to the commandments and follow the example the Savior set for me I will receive the blessings of exaltation. I come to the Temple often to renew my covenants with the Lord and recieve the strength I need to overcome my imperfections. The temple is a reminder to me of what kind of person I want/can be and helps me become that person. I have a long way to go but am greatful for the loving patience of the Savior.

And this one is just for fun. Thanks for all your wonderful compliments yesturday. It really means a lot to me to get feedback. And for any family members who are looking you can comment also and I promise I will respond.

Faith in the next generation
This is dd's great grandma, she broke her hip and had surgery. Here we are getting her settled into the rehab facility. I love this picture and how great it turned out. DD will cherish this picture her whole life. It makes me remember that we need to realize that our futures ly in the hands of the next generation and that we need to have faith in them to do what is right. And hope that we have taught and prepared them to take on that responsibility.
And for fun a few story boards that I have been working on. I have taken into consideration all your feedback and tried to apply that to what I have done. Thanks for looking and CC is welcome. Have a great day.

Just for fun
Not much to show today. Took this picture yesturday and I just loved it. We went out to lunch with my MIL or Uncle in law and there was construction going on next door. DD thought it was so neat they way this worked. She spent most of her time sitting on the table watching out the window. When we left she ran and sat at the edge of the sidwalk so she could watch it closer and she wouldn't get up. I thought it was so cute I had to grab my camera. I hope this doesn't mean she'll be interested in construction. Thanks for all the cc on yesturdays pics. I got a lot of feedback and will be working hard on figuring out metering and exposure.

Green Dress
The sun was setting and so I thought I would run into the back yard and take some pics. DD's uncle got her this dress for her birthday. It's great he likes to buy her clothes but he has no kids and so doesn't know anything about sizes. She is in 24 mth -2t and the dress is a size 4, not a 4t but a 4. Well dd loves the dress and she always wants to wear it so I figured I would put her in it and get some pictures for her uncle. She is so funny in the dress as she trips over it but loves to twirl and dance (currently begging me to dance with her). So I tried some different techniques on these and would love some feedback with my PPing. I'm starting to think that I really suck cause I don't know how to get the look I want. Also do you all think I am doing something wrong with my settings? What am I missing? Thanks for the cc last night. Those picks were fun to take and I can't wait to give them to my friend.

Green couch (ok a bit of a stretch)
I went to visit a friend today and she said I could take some pictures. Her little guy is 4wks old so I would say this is my first newborn shoot, though I was just taking pics of a friends baby to practice. Her oldest son saw me pull out the camera and came running over and jumped in the pictures. He is so photogenic, the camera really loves him. He's 5 and he let me pose him and everything. I have never in my life worked with someone so cooperative. Man it felt good. I really had fun doing this and would love to do it again. Though I'm sure not every subject is as cooperative. Thanks for all your cc on yesturdays pic I think that I may have to get it printed and hang in her room.

Sorta on theme (green grass) Ha!
I went to lunch with my SIL and niece and they were giving out balloons. DD was so excited to get a ballon and I thought it would be fun to go to the park and let her run around. I tied the balloon to her belt loop so she wouldn't lose it and she had so much fun running around outside. She had so much fun running around and I just snapped a way. So I have a little green (sorta) grass to be on theme. I love how beautiful Utah is and can't wait for spring to come and everything to turn green. But I really love how beautiful the mountains are when they are snow capped. I used an HDR plug-in on these that I learned about on two peas. I love what it did to these pics. If anyone wants to check it out you can find it here http://www.mediachance.com/plugins/redynamix.html. CC always welcome and encouraged. Particularly if you think I am improving, I would love to hear that.

I wanted to say thanks for the comments on my previous blog. I really enjoyed taking those pictures of my niece and wish I had gotten some more. You all are great with your feedback.

Not on theme
Ok I know I am not on theme and it's St Patricks Day but my niece came over and let me take some pictures. She is 61/2 months along and doesn't like the way she looks. She's crazy, I think that she is gorgeous. These are the first maternity pics I have ever taken. CC is welcomed and encouraged of course. I did a vintage look on the first one which I really like and then black and whites on the other two. Her face isn't showing in these cause she didn't want it showing.

More photos of niece and nephew
I got some more edited and thought that i would share. Thanks for all the CC on last nights post. I really love all the compliments you give me. I'm not sure that I am cut out for doing indoor shoots. I really can't wait to have some nice weather and to get outside. Any CC or feedback would be appreciated particularly on my pping.

Off Topic Easter pics
So here's something new. My SIL went to JCpenny's and had her kids pics done and was really disappointed in the way they turned out. So she asked me to do pics for her. I told her I wasn't very good and still needed to practice more but was glad to help. My nephew has the most beautiful blue eyes and I love his red hair. He loves the camera and always looks right at you and smiles.
My niece on the other hand is not interested in having her pics taken or really interacting with you so she was difficult. But I managed to get a couple cute ones. Here is just a preview of what I have worked on. Thanks for looking and any CC is always welcome.

Feeding the ducks
So I took dd out to the duck pond at the park. We needed to get out of the house the weather was good and dd had so much fun chasing the geese and ducks. Can you believe it's spring and almost easter. I wanted to do easter pictures outside but it just doesn't work that well with all the snow on the ground and everything looking dead. Oh well we can use all the water we can get. Thanks for the cc on my Zoo pictures. I have more but thought I would share something new. I got a lot of compliments on my conversions on those pics and someone asked if it was an action. I did not use an action I created a preset in curves and that's what I used. I really liked the way it looked on the zoo pics. CC is always welcome and encouraged.
ISO 100 f/7.1 SS 1/250
I had to snap this pic of the blue bird as it was so pretty and colorful in all the dead and snowy environment we were in. It's exciting to see the birds back as it means spring is coming.
ISO 100 F9.0 SS 1/60
And this one is just for fun. We finally made the switch and turned dd's crib into a day bed. This is her first night trying to get her to sleep in her bed. We spent an hour putting her back in bed and trying to convice her to stay there. We finally had to just shut the door so she couldn't get out of her room (she has a night light.) So when I went to bed I thought I better check on her and make sure she was in her bed. Nope she grabbed her blanket off her bed and got in to her bouncer (turned into a rocking chair) and went to sleep. I had to snap a picture.

More Zoo animals
Here are some more animals I was saving from our Zoo trip for this week. Thanks for all the comments on last nights post I really appreciate all your feedback. I used the same conversion on these as I did on the ones last night. I'm really glad you all liked them as my husband didn't get it when he saw them.

The Zoo
So I don't have any pets are animals to take pictures of. So these are from a few weeks ago When I took DD to the Zoo. I got lucky getting this picture and thought that it was pretty cool. I really need a better zoom lense though.

Playing in the snow and something extra
So I thought I would let dd go outside and play and she was really excited. There were patches of snow throught the yard and she had to run through each little patch. Then she decided she would make snowballs to throw. That was lots of fun until ...........
She realized it was really cold on her hands. And since I am such a great Mom of course I had to take this picture before I put the camera away and took her inside to get her hands warm. I used to try and crop in frame but there was a post on two peas that talks about crop in PS so that's what I did. Thanks for all the comments from the last post. It really helps motivate me to get out and take more pictures when I read what you have to say. Thank you.
And for the extra. I have been working on this for a while and I think I finally got it. CC would be greatly appreciated as I want to print this as a 10x20 and put in dd's room. I know it's not perfect but it's the best so far. For some reason the exposure on these isn't the same despite the fact that everything else was the same. So the coloring is a little off from each picture. Still have to work on that for the futur. My ? is do you think it's good enough to print?

Pics from the Zoo
Ok so these pics weren't taken today but oh well. I took dd to the Zoo on friday. We had great weather and couldn't pass it up. We had so much fun, however it was hard chasing a 2yr old and taking her picture at the same time. I thought I would do a vintage feel to these and try the rounded corners. I really like the feel to them. The only zoom lense I have is the Sigma 28-105mm f2.8 and that's what I used. I really don't like this lense as my images aren't as sharp as they are when I use my 50mm f/1.8. So I will need to get a better zoom lense but that will have to wait a while. CC is welcomed and encouraged and please don't be afraid to give me the hard stuff. I shot in raw for the first time and I think it's the way to go. I just don't care for the work flow as there are too many programs to process in. I will have to work on that. Thanks for all the CC and feedback. I really appreciate it.

Pics of DH and DD
Thought I would take some pics of dd and dh. Let me know if you think their faces are too washed out. I'm working with natural light. I know I need a reflector (working on that). I can redue the conversion though if you think the faces are too washed out. Thanks for the cc on these.
