Christmas

Here are a few of my Christmas memories. I learned this new technique of getting starbursts from the lights on the trees and I just think it makes my tree glow. I only wish I could have accomplished this with the picture of Gabby. Unfortunately she won't sit completely still for 25 secs. Merry Christmas!

ETA: ok here is the trick to get the starbursts on your christmas tree. You'll want to shoot in manual mode. Set your Apeture at f/11 or higher (I shot at f/22) ISO at 100 and your shutter speed at 25". You'll want to use a tripod so as not to have camera shake, if you don't have a tripod you'll want to set your camera on a stable surface so that it doesn't move. I use the timer on my camera again so that I don't have any camera shake when I take the picture. Make sure that the only light in the room is what's coming from the tree and take the picture. You can adjust your shutter speed up or down depending on how much light you need.

Cards

Well I have been working on our christmas card and Isaac's announcement. I created our christmas card from scratch and the announcement I purchased the template for it. I really liked it and got it on sale. Who knows if I will even get these out so I figured I better post them just in case I don't. It's pretty difficult to get anything done between a newborn and potty training.

Family pics with Isaac

So I tried doing some family pictures with us. Gabby was having nothing to do with them so they didn't turn out very well. Pete took the ones with my and Gabby in them. Also Isaac wasn't too cooperative either.

Isaac at 3 weeks old

Isaac is 3 weeks old now. I tried really hard to get some pictures with him sleeping but everytime I started to take pictures he was wide awake. I would say I spent almost 2 hours working on getting sleepy pictures but he just wouldn't have anything to do with it. I saw these baby cocoons and thought they were so cute so I made one and just love it. After I took these pictures I made a hat to match the cocoon but haven't done any pictures with it yet. I will have some up once I take some more pictures.

I did a little more practicing with Isaac. I did all these in the front room with natural light and my onboard flash for some fill light. The more I practice the more I realize I need a new lense and a speedlite. Especially since we are in the winter months with not as much light. Well one day I will get what I need. I'm just making due with what I have. Isn't he cutie.
