So the other day we were sitting in the front yard and I looked over at the trees and the light from the sun shining through the trees was breath taking. There was this amazing sun flare coming through the trees and I wanted to practice capturing sunflares. I just learned a new technique and wanted to see if I could accomplish it.
I asked Pete to get the camera for me. I had been to the zoo with the kids earlier and had my 28-105 sigma lens (I hate that lens) on the camera. I was having such a hard time getting anything decent. The focus is soft and the color is dull but it's my longest focal lenght. I just hate it and thought for sure that I hadn't got anything decent. I was going through my pictures and found this one and after pping this picture I just fell in love.
Not with the lens but with Pete. I know your all thinking, "what you fell in love umm ok." Don't you ever have those moments where your spouse does something or you see them and your heart starts to pound and you get giddy thinking "Oh yeah he's mine and I am so in love with him!" Well I had one of those moments today.
Last night Isaac woke up at 2:00 am to eat and I was so tired I couldn't get him to settle down and totally freaked out on Pete for sleeping while I was taking care of Isaac. I know terrible of him right he had the nerve to sleep, what a man. After I saw this picture I felt so guilty for being so crabby. I just want Pete to know how much I love him. He is the best husband ever and I am so excited for our new adventure together.
Isn't he the cutest butter ball ever! Pete and Gabby nicknamed him butter ball because of his lack of hair (such a nice shaped head he has) and his pale skin just like a butter ball.

Danielle,
I just spent an hour perusing your blog here and I'm so impressed! I LOVE your work. I love the eye you have and how you frame your shots and I want to know more more more about how you're training and such.
WOW!
Gorgeous stuff!
I look forward to following and learning with you!
With love,
Angie
Thanks Angie I spend a ton of time on line researching and studying. I am self taught so everything I have learned was from on line. I joined a photography group and have learned a ton from that. But really the key is to take a lot of pictures.
Danielle
They are adorable for sure!!!
So I'm curious, my friend... you willing to share what programs you've used to train yourself? I've done a bit too.
Angie, I a member of ILP (Ilovephotgraphy.com) and they have a bunch of tutorials and information over there. I also learned the basics at www.escrappers.com. I use CS4 and have also downloaded some actions which have helped me develope my style. So I use a combination of actions and my own stuff to create what I do. What program are you using and I can give you some great sites to visit.
Thanks for those suggestions. I'll check them out. Thus far, I've stuck with Adobe Photoshop. I've done a few tutorials that I've found on the web and am looking into enrolling in lynda.com
That is sweet what you said about Peter. I am so grateful when I get those moments where Mike makes my heart skip a bit, and thankfully, it still happens a lot. Love you guys!
