Sweet Girl

I just loved the way she is looking at me in this picture. Despite the look she really was into getting her picture taken. Mainly cause I let her crawl on the counter. This was taken with my 50mm lense Iso 800 ss 320 f 1.8 natural light. I just played in pse4. I wanted to try something new. What do you think. HHCC is always welcome and don't be afraid to be tough on me. I can take it.

Some people wanted to see what my originals looked like so here they are. I'm really struggling with getting the white background and just not sure what to do with the pping. Any suggestions would be great. I'm going to my ps class tonight so I will see what the instructer says or if he will want to use them in the class tonight. Thanks for the cc I really appreciate it. I have missed being here.

TWO Birthday Pics

Sorry I haven't been around for awhile. I just took a break for awhile to rejuvinate myself. I am finding that POTD takes a lot of time and I was neglecting my family. I really wanted to take these pictures for dd's birthday but it just never worked out. I was in the mood, feeling good and found that the light was looking good so I did these today. I did have a hard time with the back ground but got some tips from stacey that I tried and seemed to work. I'm feeling pretty good about these picks but would like some cc please. Don't be afraid to hit me with harsh criticism if you feel so inclined. I really want to improve. I took these in my kitchen using only the light coming in from the window. Shot with my 50mm f/1.8 Iso 800 ss 250 f 2.0. For processing I did some screen layers to get the background white and erased as I went along at 18% opacity (thanks Stacey anna for the tip). Thanks for looking and the cc.

LOVE

So this weeks theme is LOVE. My first and most important love has to be my family. I know I had already posted pictures of DD and DH painting together but I came home and this is what I found. DH had taken one of his shirts and put it on DD to keep her clean. Well the sleeves were too long so he cut them of and placed them on their heads like a head band. It was so funny I had to grab my camera. It just reminds me of how much I love my family and how happy they make me. I can't imagine life without them. For my conversion I tried Jordans technique that she posted on two peas a while back. Feedback on that would be great. Thanks for looking and all your cc.

SS 1/100 F/1.8 ISO 400 Flash used - Shutter priority . Used Michelle Pearsons Creamy action and added a grunge boarder.
This was a picture I did while playing appature. I love the way she is playing with the phone. Seriously she knows how to use it. She's only two but she can make phone calls. Way to smart.

SS 1/100 F/1.8 ISO 800 - Apeture priority - Custom WB - Flash Fired turned all the way down. Used Michelle Pearsons Golden Sepia added a grunge borded and texture.
I love this picture even though it's blurry. I'm really working on getting great focus. I really have a long way to go.

Self portrait with new camera

So I played today and took a self portrait. I really truely hate having my picture taken but I have to say that I really like this one. So I thought I would share. No I'm not on theme but you have to give me props for trying a self portrait. And I have to say Thanks to jess for the suggestions on exposure and white balance. I can so see the difference. Well off to a suprise birthday party. Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for the cc.

Not on theme

For dd's birthday we got her some finger paints and sinve it was snowing today and we weren't going anywhere I thought it would be a nice opportunity to pull out the paints. Dad came home and dd decide he was going to help her whether he wanted to or not. She sure had a lot of fun painting and I had a lot of fun playing with camera. I'm not completely happy with the pictures so I used michelle pearsons crossprocessed action on them. They had an orange color cast to them that I didn't like and I really need to work on good focus. I guess it will just take practice learning to stay still. I have to admit it's not easy going to a new camera. It seems like you have to relearn how to use it. I spent a lot of time in the manual today. Man there is so much more I can do with the xti then I could with my rebel, it makes my head spin. Thanks for looking and for the cc. I would love some good, hard cc on what I could do to improve these. I can take what you have to give.

Apeture - Flower

So I finally got XTI today and here is the first picture I took. I'm really excited I just haven't had much time to play. This is sooc I shot using one of the program modes flower. So I won't put any of the settings down. I did use the flash as there wasn't much light but I am happy with the image. It's going to take a while to get used to this new camera. Love it though.

Apeture - Birthday

Sorry I haven't been around the last few days. Life has been crazy and to top it off my camera is broken. No worries I just purchased my new Canon rebel xti. Can't wait it will arrive on wed. I have a very good friend who offered to let me use her camera for dd's birthday party. These pictures were shot with her nikon d50 all in auto mode (didn't know camera settings to shoot in manual and only had it for a day) with 50mm f/1.8 lense. The pictures aren't great, we went to the living planet aquarium and the lighting was terrible. I had to shoot with the built in flash but it was lots of fun and I got some fun pictures to remember the day. Thanks for looking, I have really missed being around and can't wait to get my new camera and be able to jump back into things.

I thought this picture was really cool even though it's out of focus. DD is at the shark tank and in complete ahh as the swam by. It was pretty cool as she was so close to them and they were swimming right in front of her.

I just thought the colors were really pretty on this one.

This is dd's cake I made. I thought it was fun since we went to the aquarium. FYI first attempt at making a themed cake.

DD loved being sung to. She had the biggest grin on her face.

I really wanted her to trash the cake (bought her her very own cake so she wouldn't do anything to the cake for everyone else) and she is too danty in her eating. I am always cleaning her hands and wiping her face. So the one time I want her to make a mess she won't. Oh well.

PPing I just did a color boost and sharpened.
